Letters from My Windmill is a collection of short stories by Alphonse Daudet published in newspapers and journals as Le Figaro and L'Evénement from 1866 to 1874. In all these stories, he tells his life in and trips to Provence and countries along the Mediterranean Sea. He spends the whole summer in 1863 and 1864 with his friends, the Ambroy's. They live near the Arles and the author finds in the front of the Ambroy's castle a deserted mill, which represents exactly the spirit of Provence, the declining culture.
