Over the more than 500 years from the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) to the Qing Dynasty (1636–1912), emerging literature best represented by novels and opera thrived. In the same period, traditional poetry creation still maintained strong vitality, with many artistic schools, representative writers and outstanding works emerging. Rich and remarkable achievements were made in fine arts in China. With the introduction of Western culture, the combination of Chinese and Western elements became a new trend. This book consists of 80 poems of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, corresponding translations of Mr. Xu Yuanchong, as well as paintings in concert with the poems of the same period. It is designed to share the beauty of Chinese culture with readers with selected masterpieces.
